Die Genossenschaft AM HOF Köniz wurde 2009 gegründet und hat zum Ziel, bezahlbaren Mietwohnraum für Menschen in der zweiten Lebenshälfte zu schaffen, die gemeinschaftlich wohnen möchten. Sie fördert selbstbestimmtes und gemeinschaftsorientiertes Wohnen als Alternative zum Alleinwohnen oder betreuten Wohnen. Die Genossenschaft ist nicht gewinnorientiert und wird durch die Mitwirkung ihrer Mitglieder getragen. Die Wohnungen sind hindernisfrei und im Minergie-Standard gebaut. Die Genossenschaft bietet auch Unterstützung bei der Entwicklung von hausinternen Selbsthilfe-Angeboten und fördert das Zusammenleben durch Coaching.
