The room

The cluster is located in the northwest of the flat (marked as number 1 on the floor plan). It comprises two rooms with two large windows, one of which opens onto a small balcony. The cluster includes a private bathroom with shower. The larger of the two rooms contains a sink and a small refrigerator.

In addition to the cluster, residents have access to 171 m² of shared space, which includes a spacious living room with sofas and a projector, a large kitchen, a dining area with a large balcony, and a home-office corner.

Household

The current household consists of 1 woman, 2 men and a couple with a baby. The adults are in their 30s, speak a mix of German and English and work in fields such as water treatment, medical device technology, psychology, mechanical engineering and earth sciences. Shared activities include cooking together, occasional joint outings and hosting friends or neighbours, while private retreat to one’s room is always possible. The household manages a garden plot and participates in a Solidarische Landwirtschaft (SolaWi), contributing field work at least once per year and receiving weekly regional organic vegetables. Regular household meetings take place to exchange information, plan activities and make decisions according to sociocratic principles.

Costs

Rent: CHF 1,739/month (amount on the verified listing).

The rent includes electricity, internet, Serafe and a cleaning service for the common areas. Additionally, residents pay CHF 30 per month per person into a furniture/items fund for the shared flat equipment. The security deposit for the room is CHF 1,700. A refundable cooperative capital contribution of CHF 11,574 is required by the cooperative; this capital is refundable at move-out and can, if applicable, be paid via the pension fund. If paying the cooperative capital immediately is difficult, alternative arrangements may be possible.
